Improved outcomes for young people through the use of AI
Our team attended an inspiring two-hour Call for Evidence session on the SEND crisis, hosted by the House of Commons Education Select Committee on 14th March 2025 at Portcullis House, Westminster.
This powerful discussion reinforced the urgent need to elevate SEND support to a statutory standard equivalent to EHCPs. The challenges faced by young people, parents, and professionals were laid bare—particularly the heavy administrative burden that delays EHCP approvals, directly impacting the quality and timeliness of support.
The session was brought to life by uplifting personal accounts from young people and parents, sharing both their struggles and hopes for a system that works better for every child. It also underscored the critical role of SEND Coordinators and why they should be fully integrated into leadership teams, ensuring their expertise shapes decision-making at the highest level.
One of the key themes was how digital tools, including Generative AI, can help streamline bureaucracy while preserving the human touch. AI-powered solutions are already reducing administrative pressures, giving professionals more time to focus on what truly matters—supporting children and families.
