I’m passionate about making sure children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the timely support they need. That’s why I was eager to research and write a report on the challenges local authorities face in meeting statutory deadlines for Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
My research highlights the significant delays which can have a major impact on children’s lives. Local authorities are grappling with budget constraints, permanent staff shortages, and rising demand for services and EHCPs, making it increasingly difficult to complete EHCPs within the required timeframes.
But there is a solution. Our AI-powered tool, EHCP Plus transforms the way EHCPs are created—dramatically reducing the time it takes to draft a plan, improving accuracy, and ensuring consistency both within individual plans and across each local authority. This all happens in each Local Authority’s specific template.
