I have been a Social Worker since 2017, driven by a strong desire to help others. Like many in the profession, I entered with passion and a sense of purpose, believing I could overcome the challenges of burnout often associated with this work.
However, over time, the high caseloads and constant paperwork began to take their toll. My days started to feel robotic, leaving little time to interact with residents and build the meaningful relationships that initially inspired me to join the field. There were moments when I dreaded logging into my laptop, fearing what challenges the day might bring. This strain began to impact my desire to work and left me concerned about the quality of support I could provide.
Despite my apprehensions about leaving the profession I had known for years, I began to explore new opportunities. When I came across a job advert for Agilisys, I was immediately drawn to their vision. Initially, I doubted whether I could transition into the “tech world,” but as I researched their mission, I became excited by their plans to integrate AI into social care.
I genuinely believe this approach can transform the profession and prevent the loss of many valuable social care workers. By reducing the administrative burdens that overwhelm social care workers, tools like these will allow workers to focus on building relationships and engaging with residents. This innovation has the potential to address burnout and help retain the skilled professionals that the sector desperately needs. Joining Agilisys has been a transformative experience.
